Day 18

Daily Focus:
Today our focus will be on your own role and purpose in the mission Jesus gave us to invest intentionally in others. It may be helpful to reflect on your passions, spiritual gifts, and other talents God has given You to use toward this. Is there something specific you feel God is calling You to do in the world around You? A particular group of people God may be calling You to invest more intentionally in? A segment of society God is calling You toward? It may also be helpful not to get too hung up on a specific purpose for your life but to focus more fully on your role in God’s larger mission of helping people find and follow Jesus. You could pray for greater clarity and discernment. Also consider praying for courage and boldness to take steps toward this purpose.

Daily Scripture:
Matthew 28:19-20: Now go in my authority and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. And teach them to faithfully follow all that I have commanded you. And never forget that I am with you every day, even to the completion of this age.

Prayer Example:
Father, I pray for my role and purpose in helping people find and follow You. I pray for any specific role You are calling me toward in the world, segments of society and groups of people around me. Above all, I pray that I can be more effective in the larger role You have given all of us to help people find and follow You. Give me wisdom in how I can use the unique abilities, passions, talents and gifts You have given me to invest intentionally in others. As I go forward, help me to live my life in a way that is more about You than it is about me. I ask that You continue Your work in me so those I invest in see more of You and less of me.

Take Action:
Take some time to reflect on today’s reading and journal your thoughts on what you feel God may be challenging you to do.
