Daily Focus: Today we will focus on how God has uniquely gifted each of us to be a part of the local church by serving inside or outside the church to help people find and follow Jesus. If you are unsure what spiritual gifts God has given you, use the link under Take Action to explore this. Consider praying for greater clarity in how to use the spiritual gifts God has given you. You could also pray for increased opportunity to explore your gifting and ways to apply them within the church. Also consider praying for increased confidence in using your spiritual gifts for God’s purpose.
Daily Scripture: 1 Peter 4:10: God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another.
Prayer Example: Father, I thank You that You have gifted each of us uniquely and individually and to serve You and those around us. God, through prayer and faith-building friends, help us to identify and better understand our spiritual gifts. Allow us to develop, explore, and nurture our spiritual gifts so that they may be fully utilized. Enable us to use our gifts, faithfully administering your grace. Encourage us to use the gifts you have given me in ministry within the local church, my Ridge Groups, and the world. Help us to seek Your will for our lives and to accomplish what You have purposed.
If you are not certain what spiritual gifts you have, take some time to explore thisafter praying today using this link.
Daily Focus: Today take some time to pray for Ridge Groups. This includes groups that are newly forming and those who have been meeting for some time now. Consider praying that each Ridge Group would be a source of care and encouragement among faith-building friends. If you are in a group, you could pray for each member of the group by name. If you are not in a group, pray about this step to take in your faith journey this season. You could pray for the group registration process and for Grouplink and the people who will connect to a new group this season. Ask God to lead new people into the right small groups, and pray for a spirit of acceptance and welcoming. Pray for everyone currently in a Ridge Group and the steps they will take with Jesus through their group while further exploring and developing spiritual gifts.
Daily Scripture: Hebrews 10:24-25: And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
Prayer Example: Father, I come before You today and thank You for my Ridge Group that I am a part of! I thank You for everyone who is part of this group and pray for them to take steps in their faith this season while connecting authentically with each other. I pray that each Ridge Group would be a place of care and encouragement and that members would have opportunities to discover their spiritual gifts and have opportunities to use those gifts to serve God. I pray for group registrations and the upcoming Grouplink event as well and the people who will connect to a new group this season. I ask You to lead new people into the right small groups and pray for a spirit of acceptance and welcoming in these groups. I pray for everyone currently in a Ridge Group as well and the steps they will take with Jesus through their group! In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.

Daily Focus: Today we encourage you to pray for those around you at The Ridge. You could start by praying for everyone who is participating in this prayer journey together. Consider praying for people in your Ridge Group as well. You could pray for people who serve on the same ministry team as you. You could also pray for all others at The Ridge between our Greenfield campus, Oak Creek campus, and online community. You could pray that everyone would take a step forward this season in his or her journey of finding and following Jesus.
Daily Scripture: Ephesians 6:18: In the same way, prayer is essential in this ongoing warfare. Pray hard and long. Pray for your brothers and sisters. Keep your eyes open. Keep each other’s spirits up so that no one falls behind or drops out.
Prayer Example: Father, thank You for everyone who is a part of The Ridge Community Church among the various services and campuses (Greenfield, Oak Creek and online Community). Thank You also for those who serve with me at church and for the people in my Ridge Group. Help us in all our interactions with one another to have humble and gentle hearts. Grant us patience for one another, bearing with one another in love. Give us unity amid diversity. May we walk humbly with You, Father, allowing You to show us our wrongs. Help us each take a step forward this season in finding and following Your Son, Jesus!
Take Action: If you are not doing so already, consider committing to regularly attending The Ridge each week this fall. You can join us at either our Greenfield or Oak Creek campus or if away via our Online Community @live.theridgecc.com.
Daily Focus: Today take some time to pray about the mission of The Ridge Community Church, “Helping people find and follow Jesus.” You could pray that the mission of The Ridge will be effective in all that we do. Consider also praying for people connecting to The Ridge to take steps that allow them to find and follow Jesus. Also pray for your own role in helping people find and follow Jesus.
Daily Scripture: Matthew 16:18: Now I say to you that you are Peter (which means ‘rock’), and upon this rock I will build my church, and all the powers of hell will not conquer it.
Prayer Example: Father, I pray about the mission of The Ridge, to help people find and follow Your Son, Jesus. I pray that this mission would be effective in all that we do collectively as a church. I pray also for those who are connecting to The Ridge, that they will take steps in their faith journey that will allow them to find and follow Jesus. Father, do the work that only you can do in their hearts and lives to make this a reality. I pray as well for my own role in helping people find and follow Jesus. I pray that you ignite within me a passion for those who have not yet found You and Your love for them. Use me to point people toward You through my words and actions in everywhere I go and all that I do. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.
Take Action: Take some time today to write down your list of names of people whom you would like to invite to attend church with you by Christmas Eve.
Daily Focus: Yesterday we prayed for greater obedience, today we will focus on surrender. It may be helpful to reflect on areas of your life you have yet to surrender to God. Maybe it’s your future, your finances, your time, your relationships or something else. You could also reflect on what is holding you back from taking this step. Whatever it is that is holding you back pray for courage to surrender your life more fully to God.
Daily Scripture: Luke 22:42: Father, if you are willing, please take this cup of suffering away from me. Yet I want your will to be done, not mine.
Prayer Example: Lord, I know there is nothing better than surrendering to You. I know that without You, I am nothing. I cannot do life the way You have intended for me on my own. I pray for the courage needed to surrender every area of my life to You. I surrender my finances, my relationships, my future, my time…I thank You that surrendering to You is a safe place. I believe that as I continue to surrender in every area of my life I will experience life more fully. Thank You for being with me every step of the way.
Take Action: Baptism is a step of obedience that followers of Jesus can take to publicly declare their faith in Jesus. If you have not taken this step yet consider inquiring about it: http://theridgecc.com/about-us/baptism/
Daily Focus: Yesterday we prayed about trusting God more in every area of our lives, today we will focus on obedience as we trust Him. It may be helpful to reflect on areas of your life that God may be directing you toward greater obedience toward Him. Is there a behavior you are holding on to which you should let go? Is there an attitude that God is challenging you to change? Take some time to pause and allow God to search and challenge you today.
Daily Scripture: Ephesians 4:20-24: But that’s no life for you. You learned Christ! My assumption is that you have paid careful attention to him, been well instructed in the truth precisely as we have it in Jesus. Since, then, we do not have the excuse of ignorance, everything—and I do mean everything— connected with that old way of life has to go. It’s rotten through and through. Get rid of it! And then take on an entirely new way of life—a God-fashioned life, a life renewed from the inside and working itself into your conduct as God accurately reproduces His character in you.
Prayer Example: Father God, I ask You to search my heart. If You find anything in me that I need to let go of or change, please show me and help me remove it from my life. Lead me to live a life that draws people to You. Help me live my life on earth in a way that impacts eternity. My desire is to be fully obedient to You. As I open my heart to You and invite You to search every area, help me be quick to respond in obedience. Cleanse me from my old ways of living. Continue to renew me from the inside out. I want Your character to be produced in me.
Take Action: If there is a specific hurt, habit or hang-up that is making you feel stuck in life we encourage you to take a step and visit Celebrate Recovery on Tuesdays at The Ridge’s Greenfield Campus. More details here: http://theridgecc.com/cr/
Daily Focus: Yesterday we prayed about guidance and direction today our focus will be on trusting God more in every area of our lives. It may be helpful to reflect on where you are in your journey of trusting Jesus. Do you find it easy to trust God with the big things but handle the little things on your own? Or do you trust God more with the little things and rely on your own power for bigger things? Is there a step you can take to trust God more in some area of your life?
Daily Scripture: Proverbs 3:5-6: Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek His will in all you do, and He will show you which path to take.
Prayer Example: Lord, I place my trust in You. So often I place my trust in what I can see and become disappointed, worried, or fearful. Today I choose not to lean on what I understand or see, but on what I don’t yet see. I know that You have a plan and Your plans for me are good. You alone are my refuge and fortress. I choose not to doubt. You are my God and I trust You. When I face anything that brings me uncertainty or fear, I know that I can come to You. I bring it all to You because I know I can trust You. Help me and guide me in every area of my life, in Jesus’ name.
Yesterday we prayed about wisdom and to build on this today our focus will be on God’s guidance and direction in our lives. It may be helpful to reflect on areas of your life where you are more open or less open to God’s direction. Also reflect on areas of your life where clearer direction from God would be helpful. It can also be helpful to pray for courage to follow through on direction that God gives you as you seek His guidance.
Daily Scripture: Psalm 25:4-5: Show me the right path, O Lord; point out the road for me to follow. Lead me by Your truth and teach me, for You are the God who saves me. All day long I put my hope in You.
Prayer Example: Father, I am asking for Your guidance so I can experience Your plans for my life. As I seek to know You more, I’m asking You to lead me by Your truth. As I put my hope in You, I am trusting You to lead me. I surrender to Your plan. Give me the courage to walk in what You reveal to me. I know Your plans for me are good.
Daily Focus: Today take some time to reflect on areas of your life where You need more wisdom from God for example, your marriage, finances, parenting, relationships, decisions current and upcoming, or vocation, are just a few examples to get you started. It may be helpful to reflect on what it would look like in your life to view God as a source of wisdom for your life.
Daily Scripture: James 1:5: And if anyone longs to be wise, ask God for wisdom and He will give it! He won’t see your lack of wisdom as an opportunity to scold you over your failures but He will overwhelm your failures with His generous grace.
Prayer Example: Father, I love the simplicity of today’s reading that guides me to just ask for wisdom, and You will give it to me. I recognize that You are the only true source of wisdom. Today I ask for Your wisdom in every area of my life. There are so many things I need wisdom in, and I love that I know when I ask, You will give it. Thank You for not looking down on me for not always knowing what to do or my moments of failure. Thank You for Your grace as You continue to pour out wisdom.

Focus for Today: Today, pray for your heart that it will be softened and open to what God has to say for the remainder of the 21 days. Take some time and reflect on the daily scripture about your heart and consider what your life currently reveals about your heart. It could be helpful to ask God to align your heart with His direction for your life.
Daily Scripture: Proverbs 27:19: As water reflects the face, so one’s life reflects the heart.
Prayer Example: God, I thank you for Your work in my life. I thank you for softening my heart to be more open to You, Your presence and Your direction. I ask that You reveal to me areas, situations or people where my heart has grown hard or cold toward. I ask that You continue Your work of softening my heart in a way that reflects the heart of Jesus. I ask You to continue to reveal Yourself to me throughout this prayer journey and help me to be open to You and Your ways.
Take Action: Consider memorizing the Daily Scripture from today and repeating it throughout the day/week.
